P1 AquaX Tour and Description Watercross is the most exciting, fan friendly type of boat racing you will find! AquaX is a new and exciting way of racing that takes place on the sea and because of the ever changing coastal conditions, the rider’s skill prevails over horsepower thus creating a level playing field for all. The championship is made up of a series of events where competitors earn points towards the overall championship titles. Competitors must participate in practice of the approximate 1.8nm course and then three rounds of each class during each event. Each race is thirty minutes plus one lap in duration. The runabout classes are split up into 3 categories, the 200hp, 250hp, and 300hp. Two-stroke craft and naturally aspirated four-stroke craft under 180hp, including forced induction craft given special dispensation, when furnished by the manufacturer will qualify to compete in the 200hp class. The 250hp and 300hp classes will be reserved for the more powerful turbo and super-charged four strokes of today. Crafts may be modified, but the four-stroke crafts must remain stock from the manufacturer, with the exception of handling modifications. The ski class is open to all two-stroke standup/solocraft. The engine must remain stock except for modifications allowed in the rulebook, handling parts may be modified. Participants are separated by experience, amateur and elite, but race together. The sport class is only offered at some of the venues, and modifications are allowed according to the rulebook. Some of the venues also offer closed course racing which is a completely different style of racing. It involves a shorter track with a specific amount of laps, approximately forty buoy’s and a much more technical course comprised of challenging turns and only one or two straight aways. With such a wide variety of classes, the P1AquaX Series truly caters to all riders from the beginner to the pro, but more importantly provides a fun and fan friendly atmosphere that the entire family can enjoy together. There are a total of six weekend events, all of which are held in large popular cities of Florida, which in turn attracts thousands of spectators. Each event is based on the 12 point scoring system which allows for a fun and nail biting race to the championship throughout the entire season. P1 events build and maintain a long term legacy to the economy through job creation, and to the environment through the activities of the P1 Marine Foundation. Each P1 AquaX event is televised and aired via the Fox Sports Network. P1Aqua X is also part of a World Series with Championships running in the UK, China, Russia, Italy, and India so this footage is reaching an international level across the globe to more than 700 million households offering a variety of opportunities for sponsors. P1 Aqua X can also be accessed via their website, and additional racing footage and stories can be found on Youtube, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
